Review: An exceptional flight school
When I decided to learn to fly, I really did my homework when it came to picking a flight school, and I spoke with lots of people. Marlon Gualberto at Boraam Aviation was head and shoulders above everyone else. Aside from being a thoughtful, careful, and patient flight instructor, he is also an exceptional coach and teacher. He prepared me thoroughly for every segment of my training, from ground school to solo to cross-country to checkride. I passed my checkride on the first try, and am currently working on my IFR with Marlon. I highly recommend this flight school to anyone that wants to learn to fly.

Review: Phoenix East Aviation -Beware, Low Quality
I went to Phoenix east recently and unlike the last reviewer I had a very bad experience.

They show students the lowest prices they can but do not include the fuel surcharge that they throw onto you at the last minute.

This place hides the total cost, and their instructors are not good at all. Most of the instructor are foreigners that speak poor english and have no experience teaching.

Trust me you will not learn anything from these guys. I did not. They were rude and wasted my money.

Do not recommend this place for anyone. period.

Review: Very Professional and thorough training
I was a student at Embry-Riddle in their flight program. I was a student back home at a small flight school. I have meet with many other schools locally and across the country. I can tell you that overall, this school give you a very thorough training program and they have great airplanes and sims to get the job done. I saw some of the comments here that they did not get hired or it cost to much but from what I have seen the school is very fair. If you are a party animal and don't study then the cost will be higher--duh???

Review: Don't go here!
I've never met an epic student who was happy with their training.

FACT: Epic mis-managed its fleet so badly that they had to come begging ATP to lease them their oldest '79 series Piper Seminoles.

FACT: Epic's own instructors were not paid or had their pay checks bounce at one point.

FACT: Epic does a very poor job communicating with their students and keeping them informed! Its not uncommon to see students just waiting around not knowing when their instructor is going to show up.

Look at the reviews here. They are either terrible or glowing. Believe the bad ones, they all have the same consistent message; Don't pay up front, the management is poor, and the garuntees are worthless. The reviews giving Epic 10/10 are clearly made up by current Epic staff.

I would say try looking at ATP. Since you'd be flying their aircraft anyway. However, ATP recently hired Mike Campbell (former Epic manager) as their sales guy at Daytona Beach. So now you're sure to be getting the same empty promises and BS from ATP that dragged Epic down. Epic and Campbell both have a terrible reputation in the area.

Please talk to current or former Epic students about the school's reputation! Not the Epic staff!!

If you want a recommendation on where to do your training, contact an FAA Pilot Examiner. They do check rides at every flight school and see the results first hand.
