Review: Second hand aviation school
Average PPL is around 100 hours, some instructors think they dont need to do any briefings, you should refuel the airplanes when the costs are high.

It is really good school if you want to experience a real engine failure or communication failure.

They use second hand pieces to repair the planes, mechanics are good but they need more, and they work with bad material and bad planes.

The school is small for all the students they have, if you were already there, they give preference to the new students coming from UK.

Review: stay away from it
It is a daylight robbery. From the first day when you come to the school, they offering you a "hotel-deal" when you pay for it nearly double the price as you would pay onsite. Planes are old and poorly maintained. It seems as a prices are good but there is plenty of hidden costs like- course fees (nearly 4k $) which by paying they claim you receive discount but the walk-in customers will get actually better offer. By "fuel surcharges may apply" read WILL apply. Aircrafts are old and their maintenance is poor. Accommodation also poor, and 1k $ is required as deposit which you won't get back if you terminate your program. Fresh, unexperienced CFIs who wants to build as many hours on you as possible. By saying that I mean that they aren't aiming to complete you training fast. People who complete PPL reached average of 60 hr dual (40hr more than expected). OFT doesn't use a flight simulator (it has been down for over a year...) for IR rating as there is better business for them if you do more dual hours. School is trying to build old fashioned student-teacher-school relation model where you are not a customer who pays but a student only. I was threatened if I had left the school they would have cancelled my student visa. Don't trust their website, neither Adam. APTL ground school is the only positive thing about OFT. It has a high standards and it will prepare you well for written exams, but don't go there to fly !!

Review: Don't trust the website
Atpl ground school very good. Planes dirty and badly maintained. 100 hour inspections take 2-4 hours. Chief pilot is a bully. Some dispatch staff are friendly the rest are extremely unhelpful. Expect to fly 50% more hours than quoted, I spent a year there and nobody finished close to the hours. 60 hours for ppl was fantastic. There were 2 with more than 150!!!
