| Review: | Phoenix East Aviation -Beware, Low Quality I went to Phoenix east recently and unlike the last reviewer I had a very bad experience. They show students the lowest prices they can but do not include the fuel surcharge that they throw onto you at the last minute. This place hides the total cost, and their instructors are not good at all. Most of the instructor are foreigners that speak poor english and have no experience teaching. Trust me you will not learn anything from these guys. I did not. They were rude and wasted my money. Do not recommend this place for anyone. period. |

I went to PEA also. I agree with many of the items they share about the hidden fees that come up later. Fuel Surcharges, Up charges. Then when you finally find all this out, and want to transfer to an honest school they impose an expensive cancelation fee to receive your funds back. I will also say do your research. training at a busy airport like DAB is a bad choice. The airport is very very busy. There are several flight schools here, commercial traffic, and Embry Riddle. This will easily add 20 minutes to every flight just to get airborne. Now they also don't tell you that you cannot train anywhere near the airport. You have to fly up to the Flagler fields, or almost south of New Smyrna. This is wasted time. Every flight you spend 20 mins on the ground and then more time transiting to the practice area and back. So basically for one hour I am doing nothing. This is why the national average is 75 hours, and other schools are completing students in 35 hours. Don't train at DAB, regardless of the school. As in my case it will add thousands needlessly to your training. I agree with the foreign (Time Building) instructors. My instructor even told me he hated his job, but he was just building time to get to the airlines. Excellent customer service for someone that spent over $50,000 already. I get the instructor that just doesn’t care. I know the other choices out there may not be better, many are bankrupt, closing, or closing any day. Just do the research. |
