| Review: | warning Hi people, To all aspiring to be a pilot by joining CDA, I wouldn't be surprised if you changed ur mind midway and chose another profession......I have seen this happen to fellow students, who gave up in desperation fighting with management on trivial issues...they are the most unprofessional and unethical people who run this flying school....lucky 4 me as long as I was there, I learnt from and flew with very good instructors....unfortunately none of them are there now with the school....the present lot of instructors suck!!David, the owner is a money minded businessman....thus he runs the company with rickety aircraft as said by another gentleman in his review.....overall the college sucks n definitely not my recommendation to anyone!!! | Review: | CRAP-TOTAL CRAP..STAY AWAY!!!! The header says it all!!! Nothing works at this school-not the aircraft or the management(or lack thereof). The owners (alber/retard family) are extremely unprofessional. They find a great way to break every contract they signed and charge you for it. Their charges/cost go higher than the airplanes-honestly!!! They still advertise they are based at Daytona International when they've relocated to Deland over one year!! False advertising si what CDA is all about. No figure they give you is even close to what you will pay!! All instructors are tired with the family and management - nobody wants to come to work...and no student wants to go 2 school bcuzz of the aircraft... I prayed EVERY DAY that the plane wont fall out the sky with all the duct tape and bandages everywhere - aircraft engines look like wounded soldiers. As for dispatch..jonathon, the owner's son is a disaster all by himself. He is a ticking slob that only eats all day and pisses people off (students, visitors, instructors and his family). Its harder to get any useful information from him than it is to pee on the moon. Basically speaking, Cloud Disaster Aviation is the place to go if you have nothing left to live for. Its like suicide - they will kill yr wallet, enthusiasm and force you 2 want to go crazy.. My advice RUN AS FAR AS YOU CAN AND AS FAST AS YOU CAN!!!!! If you dont heed this warning and still decide to attend the school, you will remember my warning and I'll be able to say " I told you so". Comments [ 0 ] |

| Review: | ground dancer Hi to all reading this.I had great expectations from this flight school before goin there and fell for everything that their rep told me about the school in India.I regret writing this but I took 16 months to complete my CPL,I blame it on the schools aging planes that are always grounded for some maintainace or the other. The maintainance is substandard.except for the arrow which I dint want to fly.IT costed me 20-25% more than what I was told.I was told 36k-38k USD,I guessed I would shell out 2-3k more but I spent 51000USD,they keep increasing the fuel surcharge even if the neighbouring flight school decreases theirs. Instructors do 15 mins of ground and charge you an hour of instruction.they charge you half hour for a debrief.etc etc.Instructors will give preference to multi students, they are only interested in multi time(seneca). In short Instructors are bad, school has no facilities and the aircrafts are on the ground more than in the air. | Review: | cloud dancer i must say jack has put up a rather detailed review,of which evrything is true including the duct tape, which was always a concern during most of my preflights.I was there last year and must add that the housing was also realy bad, wonder if those things have changed lately.the school has managed to sustain thanks to inflow of foreign students who are unaware of the situation till they arive and well into their private, and then its complete hassle to change schools as the M1 s have to changed along with the school,so they stick to the school and just bare with everything.overall its a school tilting to the bad side of the scale. | Review: | What shall I say...?? I started at this school as it was in the same area. It looked good at that time. It took me a while to get my instrument rating, however, I didn't spend extra money. PROS: Relaxed environment. You can take your time to finish the training. Good Piper Arrow- the only good thing is they have a good piper arrow. CONS: Fuel Surcharge(used to be a no fuel surcharge school) Aircraft maintenance(aircrafts are flyable but scary at the same time-usually the aircrafts are down due to old age and good mechanical work done on it- you might find duck tape on some aircrafts body frame) Unprofessional Staff- The company is run by a family. The owner Mr. Alber is un-professional and doesn't know how to talk to students. The dispatcher is always trying to find a reason to waste time. Susan is the only intelligent person it seems. She is the admission officer and handles immigrations and visa. She is a nice lady. Rates high for the aircrafts- the rate is a bit higher than expected. Too much in some cases for the quality and equipment in the aircraft. Senecca is 290 plus fuel surcharge plus instructor(dual flight) 152 is 100 with fuel surcharge included. (one can get better aircrafts at air america for 30-40% less) Instructors charge for everything-they will charge you a minimum no matter what even if you did not used that much time for ground or they was no de-briefing. YOu get charged for getting your log book signed at times and endorsed by the school if you are done with your training. They wouldn't pay back your money. Policy states they would refund your money asap if you leave the school. That is not the case. They will take for ever to give your money back or u might just not get it at all. Instruction- when i did my training, instructors were good. all of them have pretty much left the school to join other schools. They might be conflicting instructions sometime. Also, some instructor over emphasize on things that is not that bigger deal. What are requirements to be current on a glider?etc? However, the school is a family run business. It is a business everyone wants to make money out of anything they could. It used to be good and nice. Instructor's used to try to save your money and teach you the right thing and get your training done. However, that is not the case anymore. If you decide to join this school. Be ready to deal with many problems. Comments [ 1 ] |
