| Review: | Extremely Happy Pilot I had an excellent PPL experience. In looking for an accelerated course for my PPL, I searched the Internet fairly extensively looking for the “right fit” for me personally and geographically. Being from the east coast, I was at first mainly focused on courses offered near to this side of the country. I noticed that AFIT offered accelerated PPL in a wide variety of locales. I inquired with them about their availability nearby and explained my goals relative to my PPL. They took that information and explained to me, in a way I understood, and they had the perfect instructor for me. They then scheduled me with Cholena near Sacramento, CA. While that was further than I originally anticipated travelling for my PPL, after my conversations and emails with them, I trusted they knew exactly what I was looking for and with whom I should learn. They could not possibly have been more correct! Cholena is not only an advanced instructor, she is an advanced person. More than merely learning everything I needed to know to pass my written, oral and practical check ride within 14 days from Cholena, I also learned a lot about myself through her excellent manner and insightful comments about my tendencies as a pilot and how to use them to my advantage. Cholena is clearly someone who would excel at absolutely anything she ever decided to do. AFIT is extremely fortunate to have her as an instructor! Anything she ever taught, I would sign up to learn. To that end, AFIT will be hearing from me very soon to continue my training with Cholena to achieve my instrument rating, and then after that my commercial rating. Their tireless help explaining A.F.I.T. to me coupled with Cholena’s mastery of the subject and masterful instruction gently ushered me to a place of great confidence as I start this road as a newly certificated private pilot! | Review: | Best Flight Instruction ever! I just wanted to say thank AFIT and Cholena for getting me to my dream of being a Private Pilot! I enrolled in the A.F.I.T. Private Pilot Course in Sacramento/Placerville California in August. As I had some hours behind me In Australia, I was able to complete the course in 10 days with an extra day of Complex plane work. WOW! It only happened because of the seamless, energetic instruction by Cholena. She is just amazing and I will expand on her knowledge and teaching gifts a little later on. As an Australian, I had to go through a whole process through the TSA to even be allowed to train. Their guidance made this all easy. Your step by step instruction in the process made it easy to navigate something that on face value seemed impossible! After discussions about my experience, they worked out a schedule with Cholena that just worked. I guess they know what is needed as these guys are the most experienced outfit around. Cholena was just amazing. She was always there pushing, teaching, and making me understand so much about the art of flying. She did this with a smile, always energetic and always so helpful. No question was too difficult. She is a gifted aviator and teacher and I must say that I learnt more in that 10 days than I did in the start stop flying I did over a year in Australia. She fixed my bad habits and taught me to believe in my instincts and knowledge. To this end, I know I am a better, safer and more knowledgeable pilot now. I also know that this is a step to lifelong learning! All this in 10 days from the best instructor I have ever been in touch with. The checkride went without a hitch and I am now a Private Pilot! Yep, it was heavy – a total immersion in flying but success only comes after hard work! Thanks to A.F.I.T I am now living my dream! The sky has no limits. All best wishes, A/Professor Andrew J. | Review: | 10 days Guaranteed IFR Training Having travelled so far was disappointed that I was ill adviced on the licence conversion process. They claimed that they were experienced with foreign student but they are not. Did not complete in 10 days and they accused that it was my fault. Will advice foregin students to stay away from AFIT and never pay them in advance! You will regret it! Comments [ 2 ] |

| Review: | IFR Training What I great choice I made in selecting AFIT for my instrument training. It’s probably the story you hear quite often. Started my training elsewhere, 2 hours here, 3 hours there seemed like it was taking forever. Trying to book time with busy instructors, scheduling planes etc. Then when I had the opportunity, the aircraft and the desire to put aside 10 days, Ron from AFIT came here and did such a fantastic job. I saw the difference the very first day. The syllabus of ground, followed up by airwork in such an organized, step by step process. I felt like I had learned more in the first day then I did in months of previous lessons here and there. Ron knew the plane inside and out. One of the things I had requested from AFIT in the beginning. Please don’t send me someone who is unfamiliar with the aircraft. They didn’t and he knew everything there is about the Cirrus. He made the whole learning process both fun and enjoyable all while learning what it takes to fly instrument single pilot. At the end of the course I passed the check ride and now have level of confidence I’ve never had before. When AFIT recommends Ron to future students, they can let them know, they will talk instrument flying all day, at ground school, in the plane even while we were having lunch. This type of process worked so great for me, we were always talking about rules, regulations and steps to follow while flying. I look back so fondly of the 10 days with Ron. I’ve kept in touch with him since he left and look forward to using your AFIT for future ratings as I see fit. Please if there is anyone who wants to hear from a student of AFIT , give me a call.
